Emigrating to New Zealand for work and play
This might come as a shock to most of you but it’s been on our minds for some time now but as a Londoner it’s never easy to pack up and leave. I was always the one who stayed as my friends come and go… Goodbyes are my second language.
What is the reason behind the move?
Well, there are a few, as cliche as it sounds it is definitely time to … wait for it… SETTLE. We always dreamed of having kiddies one day in an open, free and barefoot environment. I guess it’s from our childhood. I loved being a kid and loving life, not that you can’t do that in London… It’s just not the same. This city has been the best thing to ever happen to me as a 13-year-old farm girl who could barely speak English, it all terrified me but boy did I learn how to be strong and independent! I love this place and the people in it with all of my heart and know this will be my hardest goodbye yet! But as I like to say, this is not goodbye but more like I’ll see you later. Nkima Photography will be back in London for the month of August 2018 for Wedding season!
So, the countdown has begun and it’s 30 days in London left in total before we jet off to our first location, South Africa. Read here about our travel dates for 2017/2018, there are locations being added by the day! Before the big move to NZ we will be working abroad in tropical locations fit for a travel junkie! New Zealand will just have to wait till End of April 2018.
